Anna Morreale Finger Lakes Community College
A Childhood Education major at
Finger Lakes Community College,
Anna works full-time as Assistant
Day Hab Coordinator at the Seneca-
Cayuga ARC. She serves as
the 4-H leader for the ARC as well,
where she directs programs such
as the Red Book Shelf project that
collects and distributes children's
books in the community. Anna is mom to two daughters, ages 5 and 6.
John William Cosgrove Finger Lakes Community College
A father of two active children, John returned to school after 30 years of working in the construction industry when an injury caused him to rethink his employment path. Now studying Chemical Dependency Counseling at FLCC, John is a Dean's List student with a goal of working as a Drug and Alcohol Counselor in the Geneva area. He volunteers with his children's baseball and swim programs, serves as a field trip volunteer for their classes, and with his family, participates in the Curb to Sidewalk Cleanup Program. John and his wife Tracy have placed their children at the heart of all they do, working together to provide a sense of security, love, and belonging in their Geneva home.
Kelley Driscoll Geneva High School
A 2010 graduate of Geneva High School, Kelley is studying nursing at Plattsburg State College. During her high school years she participated in the concert and marching bands, the art club, and the concert chorus. A standout runner, Kelley was a member of the cross country, indoor and outdoor track teams all four years. She was the first female in GHS's history to qualify for NYS competition, which she did each year of her high school career. She was a member of the 2009 FLHSAA East Girls Cross Country championship team, a member of the FL League First Team, and elected MVP for Track in her senior year. Kelley interned at Geneva General Hospital in nursing and volunteered in several community service programs, including the Musselman Triathlon, Relay for Life, and the HWS 5K Road Race. She was also active with the Yates County Humane Society, volunteering to assist with animals and was a member of TIES (Together Including Every Student) serving as a counselor and friend to a group of disabled children.
Cassandra J Snyder Geneva High School
Cassandra Snyder is a 2010 graduate of Geneva High School now enrolled at St John Fisher College where she is studying nursing and pre-law. Active in many extra curricular activities at GHS, she was president of her class and the student council in her senior year. She received several awards among them the Ann M. Irving Award, the Frederick Douglass and Susan B. Anthony Award, the Geneva Teachers Association Scholarship, the Ontario County Sophomore of the Year Award, the Michael F Nozzolio Citizenship Award and the American Citizenship Award. Her volunteer activities include work for the American Red Cross, Big Brothers/Big Sisters, Leaders Spark, St. Mary's Adult Choir and Vacation Bible School , Ontario County Youth Bureau, Together in Every Situation (TIES) and service as a peer educator and Freshman Orientation Coordinator at the high school. She sang with Varsity Singers and was active with the Cooking, Drama and Science Clubs.
Michael Warner Geneva High School
Michael is a 2010 graduate of Geneva
High School currently enrolled at SUNY
Cortland, where he studies business and
economics. A member of the Geneva
varsity football and lacrosse teams for
three year, Michael was named to first
team all-league and selected as MVP in
both sports. He was a team captain for
lacrosse in his senior year, and was also named a US Lacrosse All-American. He volunteered at the Festival of Nations and United Way Day of Caring, and in addition to the Cuony Award, received the Larry and Nancy Russell Memorial Scholarship, the John Snyder Memorial Lacrosse Award, and the Geneva
Sports Hall of Fame Award.
Jacob Williams DeSales High School
The Valedictorian of the DeSales Class
of 2010, Jacob is studying bio-engineering at the University of Rochester. While at DeSales, Jacob played football, basketball and baseball, and was active with the student council. He was a Boys State Delegate and participated in the American Mathematics Competition. He volunteered for the Community Lunch Program, the Golden Olympics, AECC Park
Program, and as a face painter for community events. He received many academic awards, among them the HWS Finger Lakes Scholar Award, the Bausch and Lomb Honorary Science Award and the RPI Medal.
Kaitlin Hastings DeSales High School
The Salutatorian of the DeSales Class of 2010, Kaitlin Hastings is a first year student at William Smith College, where she intends to follow a pre-law curriculum. While at DeSales, she was a varsity cheerleader for both football and basketball, winning the Exceptional Senior Cheerleader Award and squad MVP. She was a member of student council, and Master Minds and served as treasurer of the National Honor Society and layout editor of the student newspaper. She took part in the Senior Apostle Leadership Team and volunteered in her church, St Francis-Stephen's School, and for the Knights of Columbus,
as well as the Seneca-Cayuga ARC, Musselman Triathlon and the Geneva General Childcare Center. Her academic awards include the Presidential Award for Academic Excellence, the American Chemical Society Top Chemist Award, Daughters of the American Revolution Good Citizen Award, the Hands of Christ Award, the VFW Post 2670 Award, the David DeMaria Memorial Award, the Stolz-Lawson Memorial Scholarship and the Ontario County Youth Board Recognition Award.
